Seeing Stars

Last weekend we went up to the Griffith Observatory. It was Liam's first time and we think he had a great time! Parking was a little tricky, but the hill up was easy. Liam also had his first Twinkie inside and got to check out a show in the planetarium. 

From there, Tommy took us to Swingers in Santa Monica. I used to be obsessed with this place when I had an apartment that way. The tuna melt is the best ever.

We also celebrated Nan's 79th birthday!!! CHOCOLATE CAKE!!!

Not to much went on this weekend. Tommy and I took a drive from PCH-via Sunset into Oxnard, Camarillo, then through the valley (Thousand Oaks, Calabasas, etc) back home. I stopped into the Loft and picked up a pair of jeans (40% off!!) and drooled over all the things I wanted in J.Crew. I am saving my "shopping money" for a pair of shoes..you know, the ones with the red bottoms? ;) so I had to say no to J. Crew. Aside from that, I got to see where Tommy lived in Camarillo and his elementary school. We had a fun time together driving and talking. 

I hope everyone is having a fun weekend! We are now off to the Vet for Lucy's check up!

Red, White & LEGO!

I hope everyone had a fun and SAFE Fourth of July! Tommy and I debated for most of last week about what we should do with Liam this year. Thursday after work, we agreed on Legoland. We woke up early and got there at 8am! This allowed us to park in a good spot and check out the hotel while we waited for the gates to open. To my surprise, Legoland was not as crowded as I was anticipating. Not even close. There were crowds near certain rides (which we missed because we got on those rides super early!), but overall, not bad! We couldn't hang for the firework show, but we did get to go back to the aquarium and spend time checking out the sharks! Since it was Fourth of July, the day would not have been complete without BBQ! If you go to Legoland, we suggest you stop at the Knights Table BBQ. You will not be disappointed. It is a bit on the pricey side, but the portions and quality of food can't be compared to other theme parks.
Liam bought a new Lego set and we headed home to set off a few fireworks and call it a night! All in all, a great day!

June!

I meant to post this a while ago, but work and workouts got in the way… I figure since I am home today with a sore throat, I have time!

June was so much better than May. Tommy received good news at work. Liam graduated from Kindergarten. Tommy and I finally came to a conclusion on getting married (that's for another post).

I made progress with my workouts, which is great! For a while I was not sure if I would be able to keep up enough to meet my goals. I would like to be able to train to fight (not to actually hit the ring on pay per view). My proud moment was when one of my coaches told me my strength has greatly improved. Coming from him was amazing! I felt so good about myself and got that extra boot I needed to keep pushing on. Tommy has made great progress as well- sometimes I find him keeping up with the training better than I do!

I found out I am going to have a new nephew to love in November. I am so excited!

Not going to lie- May was terrible. Could it have been worse? Probably? Am I whining? Yes. But May was just that month I was so happy to say goodbye to. Without getting into too much detail, I started a new job at an Aerospace company (crazy, right!?) and within two weeks got sick and missed a week. Liam also got sick and missed school. To make May worse, the week I went back to work, Tommy got hit by a car (Thank God he is ok!) and we had to go to the ER, doctor appointments, etc. May just had to go at this point!
The good news is it is now June! Liam has received an Academic Achievement award at school! He also made honor roll. We are all so proud! He "graduates" from Kindergarten this week! Where has the time gone!?
Father's Day is also this weekend! I am going to give Liam some money this year and let him pick something for his Dada. I am curious to see what he will pick. Liam and I have been going to the mall every Saturday morning for coffee(caffeine free ice blended for Liam) and to look around…We always end up in Sephora(I can't help it!!!) and Liam always tried on some sort of fragrance for men. This week was YSL. Not going to lie, it smelled amazing. Anyway, i have a feeling he will want to pick out a new scent for Dada. Guess we will see.
This past weekend, Tommy and I had drinks and Mexican food by the water which was really nice. We then took Liam to Santa Monica on Sunday. Amazing. I haven't been on the pier since I was a kid and was so glad to be able to take Liam there. The fact that I lived so close to SM for so long and moved away blows me away. What was I thinking at 22?
This month I am dedicating myself to at least 5 workouts a week (4 with the trainer and 1 alone) in hopes it will balance my health. I have also found a trapeze school and hope I can enroll in that by July. Ballet was a bust as my joints in my ankles and feet have all but given out. You kinda need feet to do ballet. Who knew?
